Demonstration Project
In October 2000, Ventura County Flood Control department initiated a dam demolition demonstration project.
The Demonstration Project's objectives are to:
- Test the effectiveness of
three concrete cutting techniques to break up the dam into manageable
pieces;
- Review the ability of different
cranes to accomplish concrete block removal within a confined work area;
- Determine costs for each
method; and
- Evaluate the environmental impacts for each method.
